document, a proof. It should claim that you don’t have malicious intentions to

go through the process of getting CENOMAR.
Otherwise, the committee, like Customs andBorder Protection, deports the person if his/her behavior seems suspicious. It
definitely conducts a small or a long session with each passenger. I have

Definitionof CENOMAR:
This certificate certifies that you don’thave matrimonial relationship. The competent authority has scrutinized about
it. Subsequently, it has issued the certificate of no marriage record.
This certificate is known with differentname in diverse countries. Despite the fact that they are synonymous, people

What should your CENOMAR affidavit state?
It’s a sworn document stating the (marital)state of the NRI bachelor or bachelorette. It’s the most sought-about document for the candidates who like to wedwith a foreigner spouse. Since it’s a vital licit document, therefore, it
should read the name, address, parents’ name and date of birth of the
affiant.
Besides, there should have a clear mentionof why you require it. The magistrate will cross-verify all details with the
original proofs. So, carefully attend what you type on the stamp paper.
Documentsrequired for verification:
· Affidavit of the spouse
· Parent’s affidavit
· Address proof
· Birth proof
· Passport
· Visa
Together with these documents, you should keepthe copies of each document. If it’s your passport, copy its first two and the
last two pages. Then, enclose the photocopies of all these documents with the
affidavit.
Notarization:
Sometimes, the magistrate doesn’t attestthe CENOMAR affidavit that has been drafted prior to the visit. It’s absolutely
valid to determine the originality and authenticity of the facts. Therefore,
the notary officer invites the non-resident candidate to draft the matter
before his very eyes. He verifies the signature of the candidates. Then, he
puts his signature accompanying a seal of the official notary seal. This is
what the notarization is all about.
Keep in mind that this process is notalways required. Only a few places follow this process in India. You can
confirm about it from your relatives, friends, solicitor or the attorney.
Costof Notary:
Notarizing of the single statuscertification is not a free public service. So, drill into your head that you
have to pay the service charges. However, it doesn’t burn a hole in your
pocket. Just INR 100 or somewhere around INR 200 are enough, but not restricted
to pay off.
Attestation:
A document can’t be acceptable as a legalproof until and unless it is attested. India has the court that issues this bachelorhood certificate. But, the foreign immigration authority can’t accept it unlessit shows the stamp and signature of the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) and the
foreign embassy.
One more thing that you should remember isthat you can’t get it attested in person from these authorities. If you
attempt, it would be a time-consuming exercise. In the meantime, there are

Also, you should know that this process toget CENOMAR also requires authentication. Therefore, you can attach these:
· Birth certificate, as your birthproof
· Bank passbook, Aadhar Card,Passport or visa, as your address proof
· Passport/ visa papers
· Recent photographs
· Affidavit

is wherein you visit or place an order for this certificate. It is segmented as
a public service that one can apply online for the same. However, it’s a paid
service. You can pay either online or via a credit/debit card.
Once your application is approved and thecompetent authority is completely satisfied, it would send this certificate at
your place.
